Wildwood Canada Spire Help

How to copy database backup (Snapshot) from your Spire Server, in Spire (v3.3+)

Spire refers to this as a "Snapshot" in order to distinguish it from a "Backup":
  • a "Backup" is the process of copying files from your server to a safe location offsite.
  • a "Snapshot" is just a compressed copy of your database that initially resides on your server.

You must have Spire Server Admin rights to be able to copy a Snapshot of your databases.

From within Spire, select Tools, Server Administration

You will be presented with a logon screen. Enter your Spire username and password

Click on Snapshots on the left side.

You will see listed all the Snapshots that are available.

When you hover your mouse over one of them, the Snapshot filename will turn into a link. Click on the link and the Snapshot file will download in your browser.

From there, it is an easy matter to copy it from your Windows Downloads folder to wherever you wish.
